An entry-level candidate has not completed the MLEA Basic Law Enforcement Officer course in Montana and has no law enforcement experience. A career change meets one of the following requirements: 1. Completed the Montana Law Enforcement Academy (MLEA) Basic Course for Law Enforcement Officers within the last three years OR 2. Holds a basic POST law enforcement certificate (from Montana or another state) within the last three years To apply for a soldier on patrol position, it must: The patrol only accepts requests during an active “request phase”.
