Anacredit Legal Entity Identifier

After the financial crisis, the goal of the promoters of the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) initiative – the Group of Twenty, the Financial Stability Board and many regulators around the world – was to use the LEI to create transparency in derivatives markets. As the current inventory of LEIs has shown, these efforts have yielded excellent results. In many jurisdictions around the world, authorities rely on LEIs to assess risk, take corrective action and, if necessary, minimize market abuse and improve the accuracy of financial data. Authorities operating in individual jurisdictions have the prerogative to enforce the use of LEIs. The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) closely monitors legal entity identification initiatives for regulatory reporting and oversight. We will update this list regularly. If you find that there is a lack of future legislation related to the introduction of the LEI, please send us your feedback via our contact page.
