Hba Legal Clerkship

HBA is part of the HBA Group, which means we work with Pillion (our administrative, paralegal and technology company) and Paratus (our claims management company). Together, we provide transparent and cost-effective solutions to insurance clients in Australia and the London market. In 2020, the program placed 38 employees in law firms, corporate legal departments, nonprofits, and state and federal judges. All students at the University of Houston Law Center are encouraged to apply to legal recruitment programs focused on diversity and inclusion. All program criteria and selection rules are determined by each individual program (not the Law Centre). This means that there are many opportunities to learn and develop an exciting career in the rapidly evolving legal industry. Interested? As an evolving law firm, HBA offers a unique opportunity for lawyers and others working in the legal industry. We minimize bureaucracy, focus on solving our customers` problems, and strive to create a culture of collaboration and opportunity for our employees. For the second year in a row, Nathan Sommers Jacobs is participating in the Houston Bar Association/Communitities in Schools Summer Legal Internship Program, which offers outstanding at-risk high school students the opportunity to participate in paid legal internships.

The program fosters the development of first-year law students through hands-on experience, giving law firms, government agencies, businesses, and judges initial access to some of the brightest first-year law students Houston`s three law schools have to offer.

The CDO team maintains an ongoing list of resources for these and more than 50 other diversity opportunities, which will be updated as information becomes available, for Law Center students. The “Diversity Opportunities – UHLC List” can be found in the Symplicity Career Resource tab or by contacting your CDO Career Advisor.
